Novi resident Al Miller has been fighting a rare disease, a combination of amyloidosis and multiple myeloma cancer. He spent six weeks at the Mayo Clinic and has required a bone marrow transplant. His good friend, Rita Pace mentioned his plight to Senate owner George Dimopoulos and said that she would like to host a fundraiser to offset the huge medical bills for Alan's treatment.. George donated his banquet room and all of the food and over 100 guests made donations to Alan. His wife, Susan said she was very grateful to everyone and gave George a heartfelt thanks for such a generous gesture.
